    Default Multi-threaded or not?

Not sure if it's just me but it takes forever to open DPX, even longer when there is an open project within it.

Takes about two minutes here to open the program with project and eight minutes to export the website.

Doesn't help that the auto-save is permanently active, doesn't wait for x minutes of inactivity before saving, thereby interrupting work.

Looking at the attached, it makes me wonder if there's any multi-threading going on in this at all.

Is there a command switch to enable multi-threading?

What version are you using? I think this has been improved up in the 17 version.

Previously some exciting new feature caused a long wait while the document colors loaded, even if there was no open document. This has been fixed.

And another zippy feature added some time ago caused a long delay while all the brush strokes loaded. Though that too has been fixed. Now the wait is when you select one of the Line Tool options.

    v17

The CPU graph was taken at load-time, no usage of the program at all in that

That's a lot of CPU usage. Might be more interesting to see the CPU per task.

Really not sure what to make of it.

Is this some huge website? Do you have an SSD?

I haven't heard of such an issue on TG for a while.

I think you really need to say a lot more. Others will know a lot more than me.

Not huge, only ~60 pages, 58MB XAR. Been like it since day 1 on v15. Only now jarred off with it taking so long every time I try to load or do anything with it.

Yes, it's on SSDs - System and data on different SSDs. New rebuild of Win10 makes no difference.

As you can see from the images above, there's hardly anything on the machine.

PC is i7-2600K, 24GB RAM, 3x SSD, 3x HDD. It's no slouch with anything else

Complete published site (from DPX) is 66MB

"it takes forever to open DPX"

Mine takes 5 seconds to completely open ver 17 with no project. And my computer specs are less than yours.
There must be something wrong with your system.

Have you tried "Run as Administrator" from the launch icon? Probably not your issue but always worth a check first

do you use any widgets or the like, these could cause issue loading if they do not work the same way [or at all] in ver 17, as they did in ver 15

BTW you mention both export and publish, these are seperate thing in xara, so you have the issue with both ?

the way ver 17 loads is different to ver 15 in respect of what goes on in the background re checking for updates and so on... it's possible your system is reacting to this differently and causing the delay

have you tried disabling the auto save before export/publish?
