Default Chamfer Feature on Shape Corners?

Is there a Chamfer feature for Shapes, (i.e. Flat Rectangle Corners)?

Tom, try Insert > Shapes > More Shapes: (Shape 1, Shape 2, Shape 7).
Hint: they are all the exact same pattern; Xara thinks more is good.

While you are looking, do tell me what Shape 8 could possibly be for?

I would have said a chamfer would be made from the inclusion of the Contour tool.

I am not aware of anything other than the rounded corners.

Ray, all have a green control, which when you hover over tells you what it does and if you click several times it produces a flat corner.
You need to drag the yellow control (Corner Size) to reveal the green control.
At some scales the controls hide.

Look at the Smart Shape rectangles. #7 specifically. These offer more options for the corners.

Sorry Gary, all three (1, 2, 7) let you have curved, flat, cornered & inward curved.

They are all the same shape with different settings and sizing applied.

Only Shape 7 is implemented correctly by the developer(s); Shapes 1 & 2 have been distorted at some point.
To evidence this, Import all three Shapes and change all to rounded corners throughout.
Next, use the blue Height and Width controls to get the smallest "circle".
In the Select Tool examine W&H to see the distortion.
Change all corners to cut rectangles. Only Shape 7 presents a regular cruciform; the others are off.

Tom, clever as you have made it, it's purpose still defeats me.
I would have to add screws to fix the plate to stop it falling off its plinth. I can at least add a Bevel.

    Shape 8 issues:
    • The plate default (black) colour is labelled as Page Background. Why? It has nothing to do with a page. It is just lazy designing.
    • The plate corners do not have any controls to change them.
    • The plinth corners do not have any controls to change them.
    • The holes have a maximum size.
    • The Resize controls shrink down the holes to about 600 millipoints (mp), serving no purpose.
    • The absolute minimum resize leaves horizontal cusps of 20mp but vertical ones of 1690mp. Sloppy.
    • No Line Width setting works. Sticks as None.
    • No Shape Tool adjustments work.
    • Select the Shape Tool for the plinth and press the Tab key. The bottom left notch has a control arm that is different to all the others.
    • Stops being "smart" with an Extrusion or Text Inside.

I therefore contend that using Shape 8 is counter-productive as making it fit one's design will fail.
