    Default rugby ball shape

I have been going mad trying to create a 3D rugby ball (american football) fusiform shape in wdp7 pro cant do it..can any one give me a few pointers how i can do it? I have been trying to using 'tubes' but can see how to get the ends of shapes i create to taper like the ball so i suspect this is the wrong way to go about it. I am using wdp 7

    Cheers

Hi frank thanks for the input but i need it in perspective as the image show i.e rotated about the verticle axis by 45 degrees and then tipped backwards a little can tis be done so the elipse edge does not show but it comes to a point?

The trick is that the shape of the ball changes ( in 2d view ) as you go from side view ( an ellipse ) to front view ( a circle ) . Here is a photo with the ball at approx. 45 degrees.

Here's a quick (Blender) anim showing it move through all (rotational) orientations.
