    Default Gary's Tourneau Watch Tutorial

    Hi Everyone,

I have been following Gary's excellent Tourneau Sports Watch Tutorial, http://www.xaraxone.com/tutorials/no...trol_panel.htm

I am having a problem with the tick marks not aligning between the 2 circles after they are rotated and wondered what I'm doing wrong. I would be grateful if you could take a look so far.

Is there also a way to key in the exact center of rotation for an object?

    Thanks in advance,
    Brad

Hey, it's not a perfect world, OK?

Your center of rotation is slightly off.

There is no way to key in the center of rotation location. However if you zoom in real tight to the intersection of the two guidelines you can snap the center of rotation with more precision.

If you are just slightly off center it can throw everything off.

    1. Delete your duplicate outside circle.
    2. Select all 12 batches of tick marks, then Group them together.
    3. Ctrl+A (select all)
    4. Arrange > Alignment ... horiz.center + vert.center [Apply]

Thanks for your help Gary and Cursor.

After correcting the center of rotation I also made the line width of the circle the same width as the tick marks and it worked perfectly!

Gary - looking forward to the next tutorial!!!

    Best wishes,
    Brad

You only have two more days. If I get it finished in time.
