    Unhappy how do i copy and paste

    im used 2 using arcsoft photostudio...so i used 2 cut out parts of da pic den copy and paste onto another layer...but i have NO idea how 2 do it in photoshop i cant even find the cutting tool?! im dumb im using photoshop cs2..HELP! xx

    if you have a selection just press; Ctrl+J to copy and paste on to a new layer, the quick way!

    Once you have selected the image by using the marquee tool you can directly copy and paste but make sure that the image layer is being selected

    you also could drag and drop the selection (or whole picture / layer)
    into the other picture. use one of the select tools or select all and
    drag it onto the other pic.
    if you work in one pic only simply select and go copy / paste, which
    makes a new layer.

    I am not a great lover of keyboard shotcuts but the one I posted does save time, and nothing is put on the clipboard that means the program runs faster.
    (if you have a selection just press; Ctrl+J to copy and paste on to a new layer, the quick way!)
