Oh I know it can be done, but wouldn`t it be just wonderfull if
the programs themselves would have that option?
It used to be possible to get them of the tray, for good, if you
just choose in the menu when you rightclicked on the little icon.
Over time that option just disappeared, and try to that with real player
if you only use it once it will pop up again.
Why do these programmers think that their program is SO important
that we NEED it in that tray???? I think it is an ego thing.

there are two progs. One allows you to view and remove programs in your startup routine.
If you are uncertain as to whether you want them or not, just google the app name to find out what they are.
the second is a monitor that will alert you anytime an installation attempts to add something to the startup
routine and allow you to accept or deny it.
one of the nicest lil apps i have. and.... they are free.
Thanks, I will check out these options.

Ankor, if you're going to wait until they change it, then you might be waiting a long time and you only continue to stay frustrated. Not only are there several programs that allow you to remove startup entries, also any good anti-spyware software will protect you from this stuff being added in the first place. So instead of waiting for others (the manufacturers) to make you feel better, grab the bull by the horns and find your own solutions.

    Good luck.

Oh don`t worry, I just stated what annoys me a lot.
I have all the protective programs and some other ones
to complement the great work microsoft did or actually forgot
    to do.
I know they won`t change it, because they changed it years
ago so you CAN`T remove it easily. And I tweak my machine
    too so it runs better.

But despite all te protective software there was still a keylogger
and a trojan when I did a full spyware scan, I hope the software
    atleast stopped it from functioning.

So I will check out the software and see what dribble
I can remove form the pile of programs that are in the startup, way too
    much.
