Can we make our own Splash screen for the program?
    Yup. Very easy.

Just draw what you want as a splash screen, and save it as a BMP.
Then place it in the 'bitmaps' folder of the programme.

If you're doing one for DPX11, then make your image 550x386 pixels.
Taking note of where the Pantone blurb is, and where your image needs to finish.

If you're having any problems, then just ask here.

If they do, then they certainly don't want to show!
Heck, I've been making my own since they took a slide in version 7!

Do I always design them 100% in Xara?

    No.

But as with 99% of my work, at some point, just about everything artistic I create needs to be passed through Xara; for a headline, for retouching, for printing to sRGB...

    Just fantastic, Gary.

Designer Pro 7, was the very first one I saw from you.
Was that the first one you did?

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

    Oh, um...7!

It was the first splashscreen I didn't care for.

I miss minimiro's fantastic work, and hope he landed in a pile of money, wherever he is, man!

    Thanks, Larry!

I have not participated in this thread because I think the DPX11 splash screen is one of the best in a long time.

    I don't think they've produced a bad one.

For me, it's about a bit of personalisation.
Something that identifies you with a programme.
    A bit of creative fun.

I would hate for this feature to be taken away. And other would probably not give this a second thought.

I don't quite understand what not participating has to do with the quality of v11's splash screen, Gary.

I think it's generic, but good art, certainly better than the PowerPoint slide style in versions 8-10, but as Rik points out above, it's just plain fun to design a splash screen for your favorite program. Without stealing from the shipping screen.

It's something I hope none of us ever outgrow.

    My Best,

    Gary
