    Hi Soquili,

    Thank you for your reply.
I will definitely check out the Xara Xtreme.
I am assuming to create the moire pattern you need to enter some values for the variables. So I guess my question is how do I know what variables to enter for the foreground vertical line image to work with the background image. I guess a video will best illustrate what I would like to make.

No variables, Xtreme is a vector drawing application.

Simply draw a line. For example a 200 pixel vertical line

Decide how much spacing you want, say 2 pixels.

Set the duplication distance in Options to 2 pixels for x and 0 or y. That is x and y as in graph paper coordinates.

Use Ctrl+Alt+D keys to duplicate the line as many times as you want.

Once you have the lines select them all and group.

Use Ctrl+K keys to clone the group.

Enable the rotation handles on the clone group and drag a corner rotation handle and move the clone so it give the moire effect you want.

Sounds complicated but can be done in less than 10 seconds.

    How about the image itself?
The one that is behind the moving slide.
Are there any particular setting for the Moire patterns?

Bill's post might make more sense if you download Xara Xtreme 5 trial and follow his steps.

    Perhaps a video may help.

    No audio in the video.

Using a blend of lines around a circle displays a more dramatic moire effect.

Reminiscent of the Optical Illusion thread started a while back by Rik. A similar effect was created by using offset circles.

    Check it out,
