Hi does anyone know how to name the images rather than the ones that are uploaded as numbers?
you see it helps in the seo if you can name the images

Derek, in Utilities > Names..., add the following: filename=imagename; do not include a file extension.
Do it for repeating images (graphical bullets), large images that are the content of the site.
It is difficult for NavBars and image pop-ups unless you build your own using Layers.

HI thank you for getting back to me so quick.
so i paste into the dialogue box that comes up filename=imagename
and that is it?
regards Derek
Select the image, then click on the little yellow tag icon on the inforbar, key in filename=imagename, for example if you want your image to be called screwdriver, then filename=screwdriver, then click Add. The image will publish with the name screwdriver (or whatever name you add).

Hi thank you that seemed to work except if I wanted to use 2 words or 3. In that instance do I put dashes in-between the words?
thanks you so far
You can use spaces in the photos name, it doesn't seem to matter.
When was the need for speach marks removed?

Good file names do help, but don't forget to use the Alt tag (image>web properties>image) and to optimse the size of your images.
