Derek, in Utilities > Names..., add the following: filename=imagename; do not include a file extension.

Do it for repeating images (graphical bullets), large images that are the content of the site.
It is difficult for NavBars and image pop-ups unless you build your own using Layers.

Select the image, then click on the little yellow tag icon on the inforbar, key in filename=imagename, for example if you want your image to be called screwdriver, then filename=screwdriver, then click Add. The image will publish with the name screwdriver (or whatever name you add).

Hi thank you that seemed to work except if I wanted to use 2 words or 3. In that instance do I put dashes in-between the words?
    thanks you so far

You can use spaces in the photos name, it doesn't seem to matter.

When was the need for speach marks removed?

Egg, as far as I can recall, the inclusion of a space has always resulted in it being displayed as "%20" so quoting the filename has never been needed.

Good file names do help, but don't forget to use the Alt tag (image>web properties>image) and to optimse the size of your images.

now the next thing is how can I compress the site? I have used the compress image button, but I am still getting reports it is a slow site? I have contacted my sever and checked Gzip compression is already enabled on the server
