    Thanks so much,Larry.
I lay the cloud shapes and colours out in vector first Larry, Then I digitally detail them in raster, kind of like my own paint by numbers.

Interesting you should say that Gray. When I was delineating sometimes people would teasingly ask "where are the numbers?" Thanks for the mini tutorial, I knew that was sort of how you did them but I am still always amazed.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

Hi Gray, your airplanes are now legendary. I really love the way you draw distant fields and clouds. Have you done a tutorial on clouds? If not please, please do because if there is a master at it You are he..!

Thanks, Tabian. I haven't done a tut on clouds because they'r a mix of vector and raster, so I didn't think it really fit in at the site here.

Another inspirational piece Gray. You always seem to avoid the obvious rendition & pique my curiosity.

I'll admit, I had to look it up but, whilst most people would have rendered the P-40 in the Chinese Nationalist markings, you've gone for the "post" classic Flying Tiger period. Well done to you Sir for not taking the obvious path in your illustrations!

Thanks BR, there is another illustration on the Flying Tigers I'm working on that will be in the classic volunteer markings.
    Cheers.

    Hi gray!

You draw the same things I like to draw - My medium is pencil and ink. I'm trying to get the Xara/Intuos thing down. Any chance you could throw a .xar file of one of your drawings for me to analyze? Sorry if it's not cool to ask such things, but I really want to look at a professionals' Xara breakdown. Thanks!

    Hi ACE,
I just dabble in graphics as a way to spend some spare time. My way of wasting a little winter time.
It just takes a little time to grasp working in vectors. There are some great tuts on the site here.
I'll go dig up an old file and post it for you to pick apart.
Do you post your pen and ink work at a site? I'd like to see it.
I'll go looking and post that file later today.
