Applying a Webstyle 4 menu to XWD

It seems strange that Frontpage and I think Dreamweaver integrate menus made in Webstyle 4 and Menu Maker directly into their application. I have tried following the directions given in another thread and it is very complicated requiring exporting both the XWD file and the Webstyle menu, copying HTML and placing it into a placeholder,which you are not able to see the menu unless you do a preview. Why can't Xara integrate their own menus into XWD? I know they have menus in the new XWD Pro 6 but I am redoing a site that I did a couple of years ago using Frontpage and Webstyle and I need to use the same menu.

Dreamweaver was always tempermental about integrating Webstyle menus. After the release of CS3 it took a reinstall of dreamweaver, and forget CS4 and now CS5.

MS dropped development of FrontPage after the 2003 release.

Webstyle was retired over a year ago, and was not updated after the 2004 release.

It all seems to be rather a dead subject.

BTW Talkgraphics is a user community, not an official Xara Group website. Some of the developers visit from time to time.

I did figure it out and it works by doing the cut and paste of the HTML into the placeholder. Not very elegant it seems to me.

BTW I was not being critical of anyone in this group.

Sometimes my posts appear a bit abrupt when that is not what I intented.

I am redoing a site that I did a couple of years ago using Frontpage and Webstyle and I need to use the same menu.

If the site/design is two years old, I would use this as an oportunity to freshen or re-do the design. There seems little point in moving development environments if you just end up with something that looks the same.
