Default How to cut out a photo of a tree and place it over photo of a house. Photo Designer 7

    Hi there,
Im trying to cut a photo of a tree and place it over a photo of a house so the house can be seen through
every twig and leaf, at the moment I can only move the tree with the existing back ground. I have PHOTO & GRAPHIC DESIGNER 7.
    Kind Regards,
    Mark

    Welcome to TalkGraphics

Outlining a tree is very hard work and even if you are skilled, it might not look very convincing.

Unless you need a specific tree, go to http://www.cgtextures.com/ and look in Nature > Trees. You'll thank me. It is a free site unless you are a power user in which case there is a fee.

Cutting out Trees is even hard with a knockout tool (Please add a knockout tool to Designer 7!!!)
Here is a real software gem (free) for creating trees. It's meant for 3d objects but you can easily export an alpha png from your customized tree.
    http://www.frecle.net/index.php?show=treed.about

Name:	tree.png

This tree is an alpha image. If you want to test it click on it and save to disk. Then open in xara. I found out that when copying to the clipboard somehow the alpha channel gets lost. (Opera Browser)
