repel text feature

Never thought I'd see the day but it has arrived. I have a graphic project where someone wants me to organize 20 paragraphs of body copy into the form of a large capital letter A. I thought this would be easy by using the repel text feature. No luck. Any suggestions on how I could get the repel text feature to work in this fashion????

I'll bet it can be done, for sure. Perhaps you'll have to make invisible objects for your text to repel from to form the A, but someone here will know how. No fear.

I can't get the text to repel at all, away from any shape. I just watched the Xara video about new features in XX4 and it shows that it can. I grouped these, ungrouped them, tried just one part of the objects but no go.

I thought perhaps you could build your shape, have it repel, then give them invisible fills.

Use a large capital A and subtract it from a large rectangle. The repelling shape looks like a capital A but is in fact a large rectangle with the text repelling in the holes ...

Darn it, Sledger beat me too it....
