Well, generally speaking because I have made it to work this way.
It is possible to make any layer though it will be a bit more complicated and actually will take 3 layers (like in case with the dynamic page for example).

Of all the tweaks that covoxer has so kindly supplied, which might now be made obsolete with the release of Web Designer 6?

The most important obsolete is a locking pop-ups as it is implemented in WD6.
But wait until I complete the WD6 Tweakset.
And do not use WD5 Tweakset with WD6, it's not compatible.

Is there any chance, at least for Xara x6, that the tweek set can be a part of the Design Gallery AND have an autoupdate feature???

No chances so far. Tweakset is not a Xara product and is not officially supported by the company.

The WD6 version is ready. I just have to finish the manual and pack it all.
It has all the tweaks from the WD5 version except for 3 which are obsolete with WD6.

New tweaks may be added in future according to user requests.
