snow topped text

I don't know if this useful to anyone or not but I came up with this method for quickly creating snow topped text from any font. The font I used in the example is called Bradley Gratis and is available for free from dafont.com

At the bottom I added hightlights to the text and a bevel to the snow to produce a 3D effect

Yep, that's nice. Wish I'd thought of that last week as I had to place some snow along the top of a client's website. I ended up drawing doing an illustration (of sorts. Not really my forte).

This must be one of the most useful tips I've seen anywhere. Absolutely perfect for the task. The fonts that have snowy tops are, in my experience, totally inappropriate for a Christmassy theme, and your great idea really offers a lot of flexibility for projects such as newsletters. It means you can keep the font that is usually used for the newsletter and cutomise it so that the identifying feature of the newsletter is not lost.

I have adapted your mini tutorial for my own purposes, and added one of the brushes you kindly gave us.
