No news of any kind about version 5 that I am aware of James.
..can you say.. ba**stard! ;) LOL - i would have liked to see my face when i saw Xtreme 5.0, i was shocked, stopped breathing and clicked on your thread. thank god i don't have a pacemaker.. jeez you need to be careful with those kind of messages dude! ha ha ;)
If it has clones / aliases and a proper "Group editmode", I'm happy :)
I think I saw somewhere that the release date is APRIL 1ST, 2009, to be exact. ;) :D :rolleyes:Quote:

It's kinda funny that a member of this forum would think that there was information available about what'll be in the next version of Xtreme without there being a metric buttload of nonstop conversation about it... :D
Indeed. :D
this is all I know- two references to the next version by Charles Moir:
http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=36366 - post#5 -graduation stops
and
http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=35807 - post #7 - changes to line closing behaviour
Apart from all the fun, it *should* be about time for a new release :) I mean, all the stuff you can develop in ONE YEAR, on top of that with a whole TEAM of coders... :D :D :D
Folks, don't forget the state of the world economy.
Companies will be, and rightlyfully so, VERY careful how they use their assets and what expenses they'll be willing to take on.
I hope they first release a patch for the current version and get rid of some bugs (colour picker with text selection) before releasing a next version.
<redacted>
I just want the ability to generate complete PDF eBooks from inside Xtreme with one button! Oh, and it'll write the content for me. :D
Redacted?
Or do you mean Retracted?
I'm just hoping that it's not another 2.1 release for Xara five ... if you look at what has been added there's been nothing but bug fixes, minor ways it works (export and such), cosmetic crappery (anyone love the way version 3 didn't render the font drop-down so you could type the first three letters of font and get to it immediately (the live previews are in the font gallery so why repeat this in the dropdown - it's just plane dumb - 1. it's too small to preview properly, 2. you have that ability in the font gallery to do the same thing, AND 3. if you were going to do some work on font and the way they're displayed then have the ability to put your own text as the preview in the font gallery, as most font selling sites do these days, so you can preview the words, but no "my slowing the useful thing down thing is so cool ... it just looks like the font gallery check it out .. but it's smaller ... but it just looks like the font gallery in the drop down ... it's so cool" ... the person that ok'ed that change to the interface should be took out and shot ... I mean really shot!)) and stuff bolted onto it since version 2. BADLY.
So here's looking forward to real new vector tools.
Otherwise it's gonna be a massive let-down... as Xara's ideas for the last 5 years of where this product should go. Sad. Sad. Sad. One day Adobe will introduce the same sort of render engine and then I'll just jump ship for all the new vector tool goodness and sensible ideas rather than headless chick ideas by programmers that are doing the easiest thing possible and no H.I. (human interfaces) experts employed in the project team.
I wish they'd employ some good programmers and/or mathematicians. And a H.I. guy because that's what Xara Studio was founded on - they've just lost their oe the way. Sad SAd. SAD.
Zestless death I forsee. Mismanaged.
Get your act together!
I'd be guessing redacted is exactly what Luke meant [third definition in link]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redacted
;)
I agree Steve, 'Redacted' was correct.
redacted: Edited or censored
Can I just say that I find this remark absolutely uncalled for and very disrespectful? The fact that you've repeated it makes me think it wasn't even a poor attempt to make a joke.
This wasn't a joke, and obviously you're not an artist in making jokes so how about changing your name?
The fact that you start a thread doesn't give you the right to write anything you want.
Albert.
