Default How do you prevent freehand lines from connecting?

When you draw a line, lift the pen, and draw a second line close to the first, they connect and become a single line because the first line is still selected.
For example: draw the forehead, down to the brow and over the nose. Then, when you draw a nostril the lines connect forming a single line. (Extreme 4)

    Hi Bev,

    Welcome to Talkgraphics.

Before clicking to start a new line tap the Escape key. That will deselect the previous line.

    Thank you !!!!!
I'm not really a newbie, so I'm embarrassed that I didn't know that.

and if you freehand draw like some of us do - you can put something heavy on the key whilst you are sketching and leave it there to prevent any unwanted joining

of course you could just keep your finger on the key, but that get tiring after a while..

    You are welcome Bev.

It was after making my post that I noticed you have been a member since 2001.

You might like to know that for the next release (not that soon I'm afraid), we have changed this behaviour so that lines no longer automatically join up, unless you deliberately pause and hover the mouse over the over the end of another line. This was specifically so you can now 'sketch' more easily, i.e. do a series of fast lines, and they do not accidentally join up.
