This looks like something I felt was happening with transparency to me yesterday, where I kept having a feeling that the wrong node on a transparency was being adjusted.

Using your example, i have just tried the following:

    Draw rectangle
    Hit F6 (transparency)
Drag across the rectangle to create a gradient
    Adjust the transparency slider.

What I see is a flat transparency adjustment, and a strangely corrupted gradient arrow which cannot be sensibly moved one end at a time.

    I strongly suspect there's a bug here

I can replicate both situations (fill and transparency tool). Yes, this seems a bug. It doesn´t happen with v3.2.

Yes it appears that left-clicking the colour line immediately after dragging a gradient fill is deselecting the fill attribute unless you left click again on the arrow end you want to change the colour of.
Also dragging a colour to either end of the fill arrow works fine too.

I believe that this bug is known.

    steve

if I adjust the position of the drag slightly before left clicking then that no longer works..

Hmmm - working consistently here. No artifact that I can see either.

Hopefully this is sorted before the CD version is shipped.

I reckon the 'left click again' you mentioned works ok on further test - apart from getting artifact if repositioning as well

    sure hope so
