    Default Text-to-curve frustration

    Hi all.

    Just can't figure this out.

Version: Xara Xtreme Pro 3.0.0.612 DL

How do I get text to "fit curve" like this:
Text on inside of circle, at top, with TOP of text touching the curve.

I seem to be able to get it every which-way but what I want.

    TIA

    Hi Soporose,

change the value of the baseline shift, see the example below to move the text away or closer to the line where its fitted to.

To do this, mark all your text fitted on the curve by mouse, or by keyboard (by press CTRL+A). With all the text marked, change the baseline shift and see in realtime where the text is moving to.

When I'm in a hurry I do this. There are other ways to do this though.

Many thanks guys, got it going now.

This isn't terribly important right now, but I was just wondering...

Any way to fit two or more different sets of text to the one curve?

    TIA

Not sure what you mean by two or more text to the same line.

You could do just a simple blend.

I mean as I wanted to do above, but then add a different paragraph inside the circle at the bottom, also right way up (text bottom touching curve).

I've been doing this by create bitmap copy then cropping the bit map in half and aligning the 1/2 circle over the full circle.

I was about to ask the same question. I want to add text to a curve, but I want each word to have a contour round it. I make the first word and fit it to the curve. But when I try to add the second word all I get is "remove text from curve". The only way I can see to do it, is to keep cloning the circle.

If you want to add multiple lines of text to a curve, you can just hit enter at the end of your line and type the next one, which will also follow the same curve.

Of course, this assumes that you want the text to be on the same place on the curve, instead of the top/bottom of a circle for example.
This signature would be seven words long if it was six words shorter.

I don't know of a way other than cloning the ellipse. The method I use is described below.

Thanks James. That's neater than my bitmap method, and since no one else has come forward, I guess that's the way to do it.
