If I dont find one premade with XaraLX, I will definitely try the slax.

Thanx for your quick reply !
Slax is very good, my favorite! Unfortunately it does not come with the module for Xara LX pre-loaded. Simply Mepis 6.5 and the current version of Vector Linux Standard (not the SOHO version) both come with Xara LX on the Live CDs. The downside to Mepis is the lack of brush making and editing capabilities in the current stable release (1692). The downside to Vector Linux is there are fewer special fonts than are available in Mepis. Both have good wireless networking and hardware support, better than Ubuntu, if that's also important. Both also come with The Gimp if that's also helpful. Haven't noticed Xara LX on other distros I've used.
    Hope that helps.

+ Ah...just noticed this reply... I had been using Slax already after it was
suggested by another replier, but, I really was looking for XaraLX on an
existing disk, and it looks like Simply Mepis /and/ Vector Linux will provide
    such.

Thanks for this information ! Id think a lot of xaralx users would be
    interested.

+ just wanted to add to this thread... originally I having
asked for info on live-CDs including XaraLX.
I did download and try "Vector Linux" yesterday, or I
should say, downloaded and burned this to CD... but
"Vector Linux" does not indeed appear to be a Live-CD,
rather, a very compact, one-disk form of Linux requiring
installation to hard disk. This could be good, but for those
seeking a Live-CD format, this distribution does not appear
    to fit that category.

    cheers
