    Default XX5 rapid sketching?

Apparently the Freehand tool has a 'Rapid sketching' function. Where is it. There is no context button when using the freehand tool (the logical place so you could toggle on and off) and there is no info in the help other than it exists.

The Freehand Tool in previous versions would automatically connect line segments as they are drawn. In version 5.1 there is a 500 millisecond delay before the lines will connect automatically. This is normally enough time for anyone sketching freehand using a tablet to create several line segments.

If you need more than half a second delay you can always download the newest version of XaReg and increase the delay time. Until Gary returns on Monday and updates the Xara Xone you can download the newest XaReg from http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=39110

The Freehand Tool options for rapid sketching are on the bottom of the Blobs page of XaReg.

Ah. Thats a bit sad. I'd hoped for more control and to be able to turn off the control points while drawing.
I guess its back to Expression for line work

Bill - any idea what the max delay value is for the autojoindelay ?

EDIT - Looking back to the xreg thread I see there is a scale in the new xreg, so I guess that may answer the question - thanks

Steve I arbitrarily set the numeric up/down to a limit of 1000 for a full second delay. I don't know what the actual max that may be coded into Xtreme.

Many (maybe all) of the options found in the registry are undocumented so I've guessed at many minimum and maximum values as they are set within XaReg.

I've not asked anyone at Xara for details, perhaps I should.

And remember to go in and monkey with the line connection settings because if you draw to close to other lines they connect anyway.

Squeaky the Freehand End Hit Detect setting is on the Blobs page just up and to the right of the other settings I've mentioned. The default is 12 pixels.

thanks - if connect could be set to zero that would solve the problem would it not
EDIT - connect as in freehand end hit detect as Bill pointed out

If you do not want the lines to connect simply put a tick in the Auto Deselect checkbox.

EDIT: I see you edited your post. I've never tried a value of 0 in End Hit Detect that I can recall...probably did back when I first decided to write XaReg and before getting Sledger to be my Beta Tester and UI designer.
