That question should spur some excess verbage from the Xara faithful http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I too am a long time CorelDRAW user. For my money Corel is THE dominant DRAWING package. XaraX, on the other hand, is an excellent ILLUSTRATION package. The bevel effects, transparency effects, feathering effects, blends, and drop shadows are STILL superior to, or non-existant in CorelDRAW 12. Once you use XaraX for a while (I suggest you go to the TIPS and TRICKS section of this forum) you will find yourself creating drawings in CorelDRAW and importing them into XaraX to add pizazz. After a while you may find yourself going back to the Corel well less and less often. Therefore, my answer is YES ... you DO need XaraX.

Just my opinion.
