Doing some graphics for a hotel which has a marine theme and their web site. This is one of the graphics which in a frame with brass letters around the frame. Had a crewing job in this boat the last time it was over here for the America's Cup festival. You can not get the perspective of the length and size of this boat from the drawing.

The boat has just risen from hitting a wave and it is rising up shedding the water from the fore deck. It is not quite right and your crits would be appreciated.

The water over the bow is incredible, as is the rest of the image.

I would expect the water on the fore deck to be flatter, and just flowing off the edge. It should be of constant depth on the deck, and show the shape of the hull as it flows off. Rich

I think the water should look more like it would flowing off rocks. Rich

A stunningly beautiful and powerful image.

I am not so sure Rich. I have been on sail boats that have hit choppy water and had it flying off the boat foaming and intensely. Maybe my memory is not serving me quite right but that adventure was quite intense.

In any case I think the image is really really wonderful!!

I especially like how you did the sails, the sea, the sky... everything !!

    Great job.

The only suggestion that I would make is maybe changing the ‘Class’ text from vertical to horizontal.

Yes Rich, thats the way I see the water falling off the fore deck but when I tried that it looked very flat and vectory (if there is such a word). Played with trasparencies for too long to try and get that effect had to walk away and start that layer again and thats what it ened up like.

When I produce the finished framed picture Steve "Class" will be put from left to right as you suggest as that is what the client wants.

    Albacore,
Very cool image. You are extremely talented. I couldn't create somthing like this in a million years. Just for the fun of it, here is my rendering of your creation with a little more definition on the the J class; not that it really needs it.

This is a waterfall showing how the water flows over the edge. The basic effects of momentum and gravity. The water doesn't just drop abruptly off the edge. It flow in the direction it is going, and changes direction as it is affected by gravity. This is what I see as the water flowing over the edge of the hull. Rich
