    Hi all,
When exporting animated gifs I am getting white lines around the outside of the image. I am exporting selecting the option to make the background transparant, however, the result only looks perfect if the animation is placed on a white background, when trying to place it on a web page with a darker background, a white edge surrounds the entire graphic.

    All help welcomehttp://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

    Thankshttp://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Welcome to the forums Snowy. You need to make the background the color of your web page background before you export with the transparent option. For more information, take a look at this topic.

It's pretty much as I had thought, and I rather hoped that wasn't going to be the case. I hoped there was a solution which allowed any animated gif with a transparant background to sit seemlessly against any background colour.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Are you using the latest patch? (not a good choice of words as the patch was released 18 May 2001)

I believe this problem was addressed.

In Xara's Help menu, click About Xara X. In the About Xara X dialog if you have the latest version it will say Xara X 1.0d May 18 2001.

If you do not have this version, visit Xara's website and download the patch.

Welcome to the Xara X conference, by the way. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
