Selection Handles Controls??

Been using Designer for years and work with it almost daily. Over time the control handles (not sure proper term) that show when you select an item have changed and added more functionality. Unfortunately, I haven't kept up with what they are and how they work. I searched for videos on YouTube and read the Xara help but didn't find a good description. Can anyone point me to a source to read or watch?

I've just recently upgraded from V9 PGD to the "perpetual" V20 PGD & really dislike the new version of the Section Tool for certain tasks.
Having installed V20, I find myself having to open & use V9 for those tasks just to avoid this "new" feature.
I'd assumed (hoped) there was some way to turn this off within V20 but can't find any mention or reference for doing that...
So hoping it's possible via a Regedit & if so then exactly "what" entries am I chasing to do it?

set showXCBoundsBlobs2 to value 0



you probably want to set the one above, ShowSmartHandles, to value 0 as well

and in selector tool you may need to have the Show selection bounds handles button active on the far left of the infobar



there are other tweaks you may need but try this first

I am sure you will back up the registry keys before you start

Exactly as Handrawn suggests, and then you probably also want to right-click the "Lock aspect ratio" padlock and untick "Smart Transform" too

it's a dell U3223QE 32in monitor [pixel pitch 0.18159mm] @ native res 3840 x 2160 with 200% windows scaling

It is very easy on my eyes; mind you, needs a room where you can control the ambient lighting

My upgrade to V20 problem is now solved.

The only thing I'll add to Handrawn's instructions, is to leave the Regedit "Selection Blob Sizes > Selected Blobs" as its "6" value.
