I managed to recover most of the material.

Hetman Partition Recovery was able to recover 90% of the data from the flash drive. This is probably the best result so far. Overall, I'm satisfied because I managed to recover most of the data for little money.Thank you all for your help)

Jack and @All, do spend a little time working out a backup and recovery plan for your precious data.

Only today I met with a friend who lost his mobile skiing on New Year's Day. No backup, no Cloud connection, no insurance.
A large slice of his recent memories gone in a tice.
