Accented Letters in a Xara Document

I am having no joy with the & and inverted ? and ! and the ligatured letters.

Gary, if you're not using a Unicode font they might not be there to show.
That said, i have rechecked and the shortcuts work in MS Word but not Xara!

My get out of jail free card is to change your Auto Correction dictionary to something like:

'' ‘’ smart single quotes
