Default Screen Capture 1:1 with 4K monitor

    I can not determine what resolution makes a pasted screen capture 1:1 Pro+, 4K monitor 3840 x 2160.
Nothing I try seems to make any sense.

I could never get xara's screen capture to work properly above 2K - even then it seemed flakey; I use a third party capture program that runs in the background and imo works far better [and doesn't require another program to be open to use]

Genuine question. Why not use the Windows built in offering?

Winkey+Shift+S gives you simple options, rectangle, freeform, Window and Full Screen. It copies your choice directly to the clipboard...plonk the result anywhere.

I like free, light-weight utility Lightshot that runs in the background: https://app.prntscr.com/en/index.html

I'm just using Print Screen on the keyboard. Nothing fancy. I use it primarily if I need to post a menu or some function here on TG.

it does not as i recall give you send directly to printer, nor save as default file name, or save as dialog; it does not allow you to scroll down your capture if the area you are capturing is partly out of view

    Winkey Shift S

    Brilliant.

BUT It still does not tell me at what % the pasted capture will be 1:1.

Try Lightshot, I love it and have used it for years. https://app.prntscr.com/en/index.html

As near as I can tell, the 1:1 resolution is in the 168dpi area. But lacking any math skills I have no idea how this relates to anything.

Gary, if you are working in Xara, the Bitmap Gallery advised the width & height of the original.
On the design page, set either for the pasted image when Lock aspect ration is engaged.

Alternatively, check the Status line and it advised the current DPI. You could drag a corner until it hits 96dpi.

If you read say 397dpi, you could scale by 397% and then further scale by 104.2%.
In your case, scale by 168% and then by 104.2%.
