Did you first save the word document as a PDF and then bring that into Xara?

Yes i tried this method and got text overlayered, and if i try to edit by adding spaces to separate them, the text moves left instead of moving right!
does the font you are using support Chinese, stupid question I know.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.
It's not a stupid question at all!, it is open sans as word 2016 shows it in Chinese so i i installed it but Xara still show it as squares !
Guys it worked by selecting those squares and manually changing the font, Xara didnt change it automatically even after restarting it!
Thank you all for your time and help !
gaftalik, I'm glad you have a solution.
What happens if you change the document language before the import to Chinese?
If that works, you can always changed back to English.
Perhaps you could upload a small sample of your original document here?

The Chinese text was written by a translator who sent me the font and installed it already but i have no idea why Xara doesn't recognize it though it shows as installed under Fonts!
