    Default Rams

For minimalist design enthusiasts Dieter Rams is revered as the master. He did amazing work for Braun.

There are many books about Ram's design work, but I saw a documentary on Rams recently and I can highly recommend it.

If you think Apple came up with the minimal aesthetic in design, think again.

I am in awe of his early designs for Braun. I wish I could buy some of them..

Thanks for flagging this up. I’ve also added it to my list.

For years and years I had a small highly reliable but beautifully designed Braun travel alarm clock. It’s a shame but I just can’t remember what happed to it. Until now I never thought about who may have actually designed it.

Interesting guy and an icon as well. I did not realize that Braun was bought out by Gillette. Of course that purchase would completely replace products designed to endure with planned obsolescence.

I think you can find and purchase some classic Rams designs on eBay. https://www.ebay.ie/sch/i.html?_ex_k...udlo=&_fosrp=1

I got to watch it and it was a great movie, thanks again.

The Bauhaus movement did bring a lot of positive aspect in object design.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had long known about Rams but the film still had a lot of things in it I didn't know and better still the great man himself.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.
