Default Iluustrator to PSD. Layers are combining.

When exporting my vector art to PSD. Even though I've got everything on separate layers some of the vectored art combines. Like say I got 5 Layers (Lips, nose, mouth, hair) There all separate. I export to PSD with full customization. Not only do they combine as one thing but the text of the layers too. Like Lips+nose+mouth+hair as one layer.

without looking at your file: I would guess that the PSD does contain the actual layers from your illustrator file; the reason it does not look like it does in illustrator is that the illustrator list is showing not just the layers, but the objects on those layers as well - vector objects do not transfer to the PSD format, they as rasterized and combined onto the layer they belong to

the [perhaps not very practical] solution is to ensure each object has it's own layer in illustrator

    hope it works for you

in a raster [bitmap] app such as photoshop a layer is a single image; but in a vector app such as illustrator a layer is a collection of seperate objects
