I am pretty sure that you cannot

it is not on the xdpx export list

you could run a vector export file [svg? pdf?] through third party software to convert

No, Xara can't export DXF ... However, if you save it as a PDF and import it into INKSCAPE, Inkscape CAN export as DXF

    Agree. @Steve & @Keith
I just wanted to see how this proclaimed 3D poster would respond.

thanks Keith - would that be any better than just exporting svg I wonder for 3D modelling in wings or blender even - I've always thought of DXF as being more of a CAD/CAM or Plotter/Cutter format ...

Oh, sorry, you're right. Not DXF, I was exporting to AI format, which I can import into Wings 3D, which is how I did that logo. Got confused with another program doing the same kind of thing (not recently though, so how that got flopped in my head, I don't know).

At one time, I started with Xara X. It's a convenient product of its kind, easy, and you can figure it out quickly. All the settings and tools are always available, editing points convenient, and you can quickly change the colors, as in a full fill and gradients. To make a transparent transition between an object and the background is a trifle. And objects can be visually duplicated when scaling. But for more complex work, I now work with Blender. Although it is more powerful and complex than Xara, I learned how to use https://forgehub.net (free 3d models) from Nebula. And now, Eevee in Blender 2.8 is a pleasure to work with.
