Bug? Exporting an image results in larger pixel size than expected

Hi all, hoping someone can assist.

In Xara, I double-click an image to crop it to the size want. The toolbar says it's 1600x350 pixels = perfect! Then I go to export the image. The "Bitmap Size" on the Export dialog says the export will also be 1600x350, however when the .jpeg is created, it's 1600x560, and has white space above and below the image, which seems to correspond to the sections that I cropped out. What gives? Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

OK, update. I right-clicked on the photo in Xara, selected "Optimized Photo", and the the export now exports in the correct dimensions. Not sure what's going on, but this seems to be a workaround/solution for me.

The image is from ShutterStock, and I was re-sizing it for website use.
