Text problem

Hi I am new to Xara designer pro.
I have made some documents that contain text. When I try to edit the text the cursor appears with a + sign attached and it will not edit the text.
The text has been grouped and it appears to have been converted to text.

I have tried to import the text again but the same thing happens to the imported text.

Probaly a simple thing but I cannot sort it out.

Any help greatfully received as this is a big project I am trying to complete quickly.

Do you see a red line under the first line of text? if so place the + on the line and click. This should then let you edit the text.

To help us...

With the Select Tool, click on the text you have.
Does the status line then advise: 1 text box, 1 text column or 1 text line?
Does the status line instead show: 1 group?

If not showing, press F10 to open the Page & Layer gallery.
For the highlighted page (blue background), click on the small right arrow on the page thumbnail's left.
You will now be in Layer mode; click the Locate button.

Now click on your text again.
Can you advise what the blue highlight text detail now reads?
On the rightmost column, is the selected object locked (red padlock icon)?

With the Text Tool selected, is the cursor showing a crosshairs and a vertical I down and to the right?
When you move over the text, does this change to just a vertical I?

text is not locked, no red padlock.
It appears that all my text frames have been converted to groups.

In TG, Reply to Thread, Go Advanced and Manage attachments (paperclip icon).

Interesting you are the Acorn moderator. Years ago I had my own printing businness using a Risc pc for the artwork and some software I have forgotten the name of maybe Impression that was made by Xara under a previous name.
Both hardware and software were excellent. So much for progress.

Ok found the options.
Problem is file is 168 MG.

This is a large display board 1200 x 1500mm with some large graphics and text.
I am attaching a picture named 'Capture@ which shows what happens when I click on ungroup.
