Bill, my deepest sympathies for your family's loss... you're in our thoughts.
I've been away from the computer since my post so a response is better late than never. The tute I referred too is here - http://members.shaw.ca/jimht03/bulb/bulb9.html. I got to it through a Maxon resource page here ('case people need more tutes on C4D): http://www.maxoncomputer.com/resourc...e.asp?catID=11
I guess it doesn't explain the coil in more detail necessarily than you had, but was simply another take on it. I kept getting a tight double helix, then after adjusting this and that setting I got a flattened phone cord until for some reason I input the right numbers in the right parameter boxes. It's strange because I seemed to have done and repeated all the steps correctly but with bad results. It may have been the modeling tool (mode button) rather than the axis tool.
Thanks for the comments Bill and Gidget.
Take care Bill,
Regards, Wayne
