Pastboard Backgrond image

Something amiss here I would like a single image on the pasteboard behind the web page.

I have followed various videos I think one was of Eggs video on you tube. When I turn off the tile effect the whole tiled image disappears and only a blank white screen behind the page.
This is the sequence I follow.

1 open any design web them
2 pick a random single page
3 Drop an image from explorer onto the page half on half off
4 in the layer gallery unlock the pasteboard and select this layer
5 select the image right click and select pasteboard
6 image tiles behind the page in tile fashion
7 right click tiles and deselect tile option
8 result all the tiled images disappear and I have a blank white screen behind the random single web page

I have tried many different combinations of the above but finish always when turning off the tiles effect with all the images gone and a blank white screen behind the web page.
Any clues to where I am going wrong would be great.

I have realised my problem I needed to add a few more steps after step 8.
Such as right click make full screen then view in browser view
