Replace static photo with slideshow

Hello,
my name is Orio, I am a photographer. I am new to this software, and unfortunately, I'm also a web-programming illitterate

I have created the welcome page of my web site, and I have used a static photo in it, as a placeholder.
I'd need to replace that static image with a slideshow that would show some of my best photos, continuously running.
Ideally, the slideshow would also be active, so that people clicking on it would enter the main site. But this is not indispensable.

I have searched both the online help and the forum for some tips, but maybe due to my web unproficiency, I could not find the needed instructions.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would start with the Nivo Slider: Insert > From Content Catalog > Page Elements & Widgets > Photo Elements & Widgets > Photo Slideshows & Galleries. (Could they make this any harder to find? Probably not).

There are other slideshows as well for you to audition.

Import one onto your page, double click to open the edit window, and follow the instructions. Check back if you need more help.

I have chosen the fade effect slide. I would like to slow the effect down, and to have a different image ratio. Do you please know if it's possible to edit those parameters somehow?

If there is the options will be there when you double click on the image. See entry 2 Auto Scroll Delay. Experiment with the timing setting until it tickles your fancy.

What I do in cases like this is make all my images the same size. But if an image is not as tall or wide, I center the image on a rectangle the same color as the background and create a bitmap from that.
