yes that would make sense - I don't tend to think in terms of website building as you know, not being one to bark myself in that respect..... well we do all know where Xara's priorities lie when it comes to illustration vrs web ...

Agh that's the same behavior(/bug?) I got when I trialed web designer 10. In the release version of DP10 it was fine but now the latest update has made it behave like this. I really hope they don't leave it like this.Try importing a photo and resizing it horizontally...

I guess photos are not thought of as header or footer items [edit - remind me again why I am not updating...]

i only have the trial and I cannot patch that it seems - are you saying stretching photo's has gone squiff with the patch even if not grouped ?

I suppose a photo in Xara is is a photo winthin a rectangle so technically it is a group. I can understand what Xara is trying to achieve but I don't believe it's doing it the right way. If you just select the photo & use one of the resizing handles on the side instead of squashing the photo it just cuts more & more of the photo off. You can avoid this by holding down the Alt key & it squashes in the old manner.

I agree Mike,
I see the point of the behaviour but I'd much prefer it to work in the normal (old) manner and have to select Alt to clip the photo.

Thanks, Egg.
Resizing seems totally bizarre and inconsistent from watching the video.
Yes but only in the horizontal planeSo what it sounds like they have done is made it so one can clip the photo further without resorting to using the Shape Tool and selecting nodes.
