Default access violation when exporting animation to avi

    Hi
I've been attempting to export a xara designer pro x animation to AVI, but everytime the export is halted by "Serious Error from Xara Designer Pro X - Access violation exception at 0x00CC5970" The export options are Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec - 25 frames per sec, but I,ve tried it every other option as well including uncompressesed and transparent background with no success.
I've previously exported animations to AVI with no apparent difficulty besides sometimes taking a while.
Anybody got any idea what's happening with this "violation"?
    Thanks, Colin

Can you reproduce this with a new file and a new animation?

I try that tomorrow - at present the animation consists of 23 frames with a run time of 33 seconds, and the Xara document is 1.72 MB in size. None of those seem excessive and I've certainly exported far longer and larger animations to AVI before. But I'll check all the components and reset them.

I'll get back in a few days
    Many thanks, Colin

Rebuilt the animation - same result.
    The only areas I can think of to explain the problem are;
    1. Size - but I've exported far bigger files before
    2. Codec - I've been attempting to export AVI uncompressed nd Page (area to save)
    3. There's areas outside the page, moving in and out - ever been a problem before
Alternatively should I export to SWF and convert to AVI or MP4 in a 3rd party software. If so can you recommend a reliable one?
    Many thanks, Colin

    Hi Colin

First, file a support request at support.xara.com

As far as file converters, I have only used one or two and this was several years ago. My sense would be to get one that you pay for, it will probably be more legitimate.

If you post a question in the Xara Flash forum Egg or one of the members will probably have a suggestion.

Where do I find Xara Flash? - I can't see it in the Forum list.
    Thanks, Colin

Where indeed? It used to be a forum and now it appears to be no more.

Try posting the question in Off Topic Chat then.

Ah, Egg, I was hoping you might have a suggestion for Colin re: file conversion utility. Or maybe even an explanation for why he is having the problems he is having.

In New Mexico, Egg, we have Señor Moments.
