    Default Page setup

Hi Yall, I know this may be a bit of a silly question to ask to say that I have been using Xara for so long now but, every time I start a new document I have to change my units from centimeters to mm. Is there any way I can make them stay as mm by default?

    Hi Tabian

    It's been a while.

Set up your page however you want, then save it as a template and make the template your default template.

This seems to provide only a partial fix. If I create a group and then drill into the group, the units are back to centimeters. I can change the units in the drilled-down state, but when I exit and return to the next level up, that decision is lost. When I drill down again, it's back to centimeters.

Units should be a user defined program setting. In fact, the Options dialog should be available when no file is open and whatever the settings made in that state should be the defaults for all future documents unless a template has overriding settings. No?

never confuse a local change with a global one - both are useful [as Frank has indicated]
