Default Strange Behaviour in Web-based Output - XD Pro X9

    Hi All,

I have been building some interactive web content using Xara and enjoying some of the possibilities this gives to go beyond traditional-looking web content. However, I've hit some snags and wanted to see whether the gurus here have any ideas how I can improve things.

    1) Pop-up layers - they work great and add excellent interactivity - apart from when a user moves their mouse a little too fast, when several layers can all get locked on at the same time.

    2) Google fonts - I seem to get strange misalignment of text when viewed in most browsers (please see Steps 6 and 7 in the link below).

I can work around point 2 by pre-rendering all text to a bitmap - but I was hoping that Xara's WYSIWYG approach would hold true beyond simple projects.

A stripped-out example that exhibits these issues can be found here:

Grateful for any thoughts from the always helpful TalkGraphics community.

I can reproduce the multiple selection problem. But I do not see any misalignment of the Google fonts.

    Nice graphic by the way.

Thanks Gary - both for taking a look and also for the feedback.

Here's the page as it has been designed in Xara:

Here's the result I see in Chrome / Firefox / IE:

It also renders with the weird text alignment on an iPad - so hopefully ruling out any weirdness with Google Fonts on my PC.

Really struggling to unravel this problem

    Hi KultiVator

    1) pop-up layers: Can you send me your example file here: http://www.xara.com/uk/contact-support/ (if you set the subject to support I should get it) so I can have a play. Off the records, I don't know if there is much that can be done, we have improved pop-up layers recently and i have been experimenting but it isn't perfect.

    2) can you try this, put a space at the end of all the sentences that seem to be falling onto a second line?

    Thanks
    Rob

    Hi Rob,

Thanks for the fast response - the space trick works a treat, resolves the Google Fonts issue completely.

I've started to drop you a support note at the URL you provided - can't see an obvious way to attach my file. Am I overlooking something?

Whoops, sorry I thought there was an attach file option. Send an email anyway and I'll reply with my email address you can attach it back :-)
