I know how the 'normal' stereograms work, but this looks very different.
I hope you know what I mean, when I say 'normal'?!
Is the depth map still the key with these 'minimalist' ones, and is it possible to see the depth maps for these ones?

These are Mapped Texture Stereograms which work in a different manner than the regular hidden image stereograms. I often use these as an overlay to stereograms using Bleach transparency to drop out the black background and to let the regular stereogram show through.
The depth image for the spiral is a slightly fatter version of the color which creates the transparency and isolation of the spiral.
