Default hyperlink inside pasted excel range doesn't hyperlink

I made a little Excel range with a column of letters and a row of numbers. In one of the field cells, I entered a word and made it a hyperlink. I copied that Excel range into Xara. That hyperlink didn't hold, like it would if I had copied a table in from Word (which, btw, doesn't copy table-cell borders with it). So, within Xara, I selected the word and added a hyperlink. Within Xara, it shows that it will hyperlink. But, when I test the page, it has no hyperlink.

Thanks if you have a clue to the solution.

Can you select the linked text and bring just the linked text to the front (Arrange > Bring to Front)?

If this is not possible, then add a rectangle over the text, set the transparency setting to 98% and apply your link to the rectangle.

No on Arrange. YES on Rectangle! Nice workaround (and will look for a non-workaround).

    THANKS!

Looks like importing a pdf version of the excel file is most effective. Doesn't show the excel file grahpics but has a link.
