- Tools to make patterns(productivity, packaging background, ... = that photoshop and illustrator)

Different page sizes in the same document. This has been possible for many versions. Page Options > Page Size un-check [ ] All Pages in the Document the Same.

Repeating Patterns - Select a bitmap in the Bitmap Gallery and select Fill. Select the filled object with the Fill Tool, select Repeating Fill from the Fill Tiling drop down menu, and adjust the fill path handles.

There is a freeware utility called SPX-Spiral Generator available here http://www.xaraxone.com/html/shareware.html that creates vector spirals.

There are ways to accomplish almost anything you want, but you have to learn how each program works and learn how to do what it is you want to do with the tools available.

It looks like you are already an accomplished CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop user - so why do you want another program to do the same things in the same ways as you already have?

Maybe he just prefers Xara and wishes he had those tools/features in his favourite graphics app? I know that's my position.

Having said that, much of what he suggests is already available/possible in Xara.

Not a problem Oscar. We understand. We have all used other programs and it is common to expect new programs to work just like programs we have used before.

That's one of the reasons why, for reasons of workflow and productivity, I have, wherever possible, stopped using other apps and done just about everything in Xara, even if it involves workarounds.

advantages in xara designer pro x10:
- If the object contains vectors to expand, not pixelizara.
- To change something in the object is updated the pattern (very productive). If we have the same pattern in differents shapes of a book, will be updated automatically throughout the book.
- Real patrones vector.
- We can put bitmap and vectors in the same object. (amazing)
