"Communication is everything"
wow simon,
This must be one of your more complex drawings yet... Now you need a striped shirt for your palid chav stick...
I like doing other tutorials in Xara and here is one from Comp Arts for Freehand which I did without following the huge instructions given in the tut. It was dead easy using three layers with the bottom one some parallel grid lines for the triangle.
Design is thinking made visual.

Simon,
Plaid ... didn't know you had it in you
Albacore,
Now that's the type of work we've become acustomed to ... what do you call that type of optical illusion?
Max,
Ah ... a college student ... I remember those days ... barely Good to have you with us.
"Plaid ... didn't know you had it in you"
Well, I cheated a little. I used some of this stuff:
"Communication is everything"

Nice images, everyone. Simon, I'm especially
impressed with your plaid paint coming out of
the can.

It's quite simple really. I found a photo of white paint being poured and the rest was just careful use of Moulds, Clipview and Stained Glass transparency. The secret of making it look credible was to bring down the opacity (thereby decreasing the saturation of the pattern's colours) - I find that this always helps when working with photos.
I did a Google image search for "tartan paint" and "plaid paint" and I was surprised that nobody had ever thought of producing an image like this. I originally thought of making a mockup of this idea for a school Art project when I was 14. Let's see... that's nearly 30 years ago!

Hey Simon,
Very Cool! I like it! But you still forgot the stripes. You can not have plaid without stripes...
