I use a combination Of Photoshop layes and Xara for the final rendering.

Its a almost full phased planet that line is a shadow,If it were a "bar" it would not fade to dark. Just saying

FYI the Nebula gas was done in Filter forge. I used the eraser tool to shape the nebula. The water texture, reflection was Done using the displacement filter in Photoshop.
