New designer flooring fitting site

Been busy with the printing side of the business (didn't think I would say that these days) so not had a chance to post many sites here recently. This is a site I have created for someone who is a specialist in the fitting of karndean and amtico; which are basically very posh vinyl products for flooring. This is a simple clean site (hopefully) and the goal was for a professional look and keep with the corporate colours of the company (grey and orange).

BTW I inserted the quotes to give a little something to what was an empty space in the header of all the pages other than the home page.

Very nice layout skech, I like the quotes. One thing though the secondary line of titles: Vinyls, Amtico, Carpets etc. looks like it's meant to be a navigation bar (I actually thought it was the site navigation before I saw the real navigation at the top) Other than that it's very nice and I'd say you achieved your goal

Thanks Frances, that did occur to me as well but that is a risk I have taken to make the site look nice, hopefully it is not too confusing for too long for too many people (my God that sounds like something Mark Twain would have said). Hopefully the site will expand in the future so that each of those types of flooring will be linked to their respective pages.

Nice work, as usual. I did the same as Frances and tried to click on the second row of text. I think everyone will do it. I'm not sure if putting a dash between the words might help it look less like navigation. I kinda feel it should be navigation in any event.

Yes, perhaps a rethink on that, at least until the site's expansion.

Very nice site. I didn't make the mistake with the buttons but I can see that the two rows might be confusing. One thing you might want to look at is the pop-up pictures in the portfolio. They are not of great quality, certainly compared to those used in the flash banner on the home page, but if you would adjust the levels and sharpen them a bit, they will look much nicer.

Thanks Boy. I am aware of the photos including the one of the client, he will take some new ones soon as these were taken with a mobile phone camera in low light conditions, he has others taken with a proper camera and will supply those soon.

Thank you Abi, in the process of many more sites, just need to convince more of my clients that they need to let me list them on forums, 8 out of every 10 clients do not want to put their site on a forum for critique, even though I explain the seo benefits of doing so.
