Newspaper background

I've got a set of black and white JPG images of newspaper articles. I'm trying to find a way to change the white background on these images to an aged yellowish paper background. Does Xara have a technique for removing the white (only) color, thus leaving only the black text that I can then layer on top of any other background? The result I am looking for is black and white newspaper articles changed to looked like aged newspaper articles on yellowed paper. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Try setting the light contone to the yellowish color you want. Other than that the answer is I can't think of a way.

2. Place a Pale Yellow Box over the print and set the Transparency to Flat, stained glass?
3. Fill Gallery > Miscellaneous textures > Crumpled; drop onto Box; set Contone Light Colour to Pale Yellow; set the Transparency to Flat, stained glass?

Yes a stained glass transparency could be used in many ways to get the result you want. You could also apply the Stained glass transparency to the newspaper photo and then put any kind of background behind it.
