Before I wrote the Xara Xtreme Official Guide, I was thinking of what the cover should look like. This was before the "Doh!" moment happened, and we ran with a cover of the software DVD artwork that I believe minimiro originally drew.
Oh, well. Here's a preliminary idea that never saw the light of day. Part of the composition is a rendered modeled scene, and the rest is Xara art.

I did this for no other reason than to try to do something that might be mistaken for a photograph. I did photograph a very similar scene using kitchen glasses and stuff as a reference before trying to sculpt and light a virtual scene. I think the "atmosphere", the lighting here is key:
